Task 6A. Conservation and restoration of lime mortars and brickworks

Objective:
The key objective of this project is to characterize and conserve the lime mortars and brickworks used in the construction of heritage structures.
Description of Task:
Hybrid strategies, inventively combining indigenous and official practices, will be employed to conserve the pre-defined heritage site. The decision to adopt indigenous practices should be based on the availability of documented knowledge and skill.
Deliverables:
- Skills transfer – young researchers will be trained to carry out the characterization of lime mortars and brickworks in Heritage structure.
- User manuals and booklets for the conservation and handling of heritage sites
