Task 2.7: Comparative evaluation of performance of various precast panel and frame systems developed by various research groups and selection of the best performing one for specified functionality
Task Leader(s): Dr. G.S. Palani (CSIR-SERC), Dr. C.. Shermi
Objective:
- Comparative evaluation of performance of various precast panel and frame system
Description of Task:
Based on the investigations at CSIR-SERC on task nos. T2.2 and T2.4, the various systems developed will be compared with respect to their performance and the advantages and disadvantages of each system will be listed. This will help in suggesting the best suitable system for different performance requirements for mass housing at different locations.
CSIR-CBRI will evaluate the performance of selected commercially available prefabricated systems for their performance during seismic event under quasi-static testing facility. Based on the experimental observations, the shortcomings will be addressed with technical solution. This will help in providing possible solution for improvisation of the existing commercial prefab system
Deliverables:
- Formulation of guidelines for construction of mass housesunder task no.T10.1
